The Commonwealth Year of Youth Project on Training, Employment, Economic Opportunities, and Inclusion 2023
Applications are hereby invited from talented and outstanding candidates from across the globe to apply for The Commonwealth Year of Youth Project on Training, Employment, Economic Opportunities, and Inclusion 2023/2024 session. This program is open to Graduates.
This Full-time internship is organized by The Commonwealth and is located at Commonwealth Secretariat. For the Commonwealth’s Youth Mainstreaming Training Program, inclusion of the most vulnerable individuals as well as training, employment, and economic possibilities must be priority priorities.
The Commonwealth of Nations (also known only as “Commonwealth”) is a confederation of countries. Originally, it was called the British Commonwealth which was founded in 1926 when the British Empire began to break up. Now, there are 56 member countries of the Commonwealth. Only countries which were part of the British Empire are allowed to become members of the Commonwealth (although an exception was made for Rwanda, Mozambique and Gabon which were never colonized by Britain, when they were allowed to become members). Members are free to leave and rejoin the Commonwealth. However, joining or rejoining the Commonwealth can become difficult, when the candidate country has serious human rights violations.

The Youth Mainstreaming Training Programme is designed to build stakeholder capacity to respond to a commitment from Commonwealth Heads of Government to ensure young people’s voices, rights, capabilities, and needs are considered and prioritized in policy and decision-making across governments and development institutions.
It is part of the Commonwealth’s flagship Year of Youth – a special designation from a mandate by Commonwealth Heads of Government who met in Kigali, Rwanda, in June 2022. There, Heads declared a focus on empowering young people, stakeholders and governments to accelerate progress on youth-focused issues in 2023.
