Afreximbank Research Sabbatical Program 2024
To participate in Afreximbank’s Research Sabbatical Program 2024 starting September 2025, enthusiasts in their respective fields of study are encouraged to submit an application on or before the deadline. Participants from accredited universities or research centers are invited. This opportunity enables lecturers or researchers to perform relevant studies that will guide the direction of the Bank.
As for the selected candidates, they will dedicate all their work throughout the year to the study and analysis of concerns associated with Afreximbank’s goals. The Research Sabbatical program is designed for lecturers and researchers from recognized Universities, research institutions, or similar organizations.

Requirements and eligibility criteria Afreximbank Research Sabbatical Program 2024
- Nationals of African countries and Caribbean Community countries.
- Excellent oral and written communication skills in English. Knowledge of the Bank’s other official languages (French, Arabic, or Portuguese) is advantageous.
- Open primarily to senior lecturers/senior researchers from recognized Universities, research institutions, or similar organizations.
Interest in conducting research in areas such as:
- Intra-African trade and investments
- Africa’s industrialization and export development
- Trade finance leadership
- Financial sustainability
- Any other relevant areas to the Bank’s mandate.
