RUFORUM/Mastercard Foundation TAGDev Scholarship 2024 for Africans
The Regional Universities Forum for Capacity Building in Agriculture (RUFORUM) in partnership with Mastercard Foundation welcomes applications from suitably qualified students who wish to partake in the 10 years Transforming African Agricultural Universities to Meaningfully Contribute to Africa’s Growth and Development (TAGDev 2.0) program.
The new initiative of the RUFORUM/Mastercard Foundation program is to strengthen African universities and technical schools for the education and development of youths to positively change local agriculture equitably and sustainably that is also friendly to the climatic conditions.

Requirements and eligibility criteria RUFORUM/Mastercard Foundation TAGDev Scholarship 2024 for Africans
- Applicants must be nationals of Kenya and Uganda.
- Applicants must be refugees residing in Uganda and Kenya.
- Applicants must come from economically disadvantaged, marginalized communities, including those from conflict and post-conflict areas.
- applicants must be less than 25 years of undergraduate studies and less than 30 years for master’s studies at the time of application.
- Refugees and persons with disabilities for undergraduate studies must be 29 years and below, and for master’s studies, must be 34 years and below at the time of application.
- Applicants should have completed secondary school and/or a diploma for a Bachelor’s degree application not more than two years from the time of this call.
- Applicants must meet admission criteria for eligible programs at the university of choice
(Egerton University or Gulu University).
- Demonstrate interest in agriculture, agribusiness, and entrepreneurship.
- Demonstrate leadership qualities and commitment to service to humanity.
Eligible Programs (Gulu University):
- Undergraduate: Agriculture, Food Bioscience and Agribusiness, Biosystems Engineering, Entrepreneurship and Communication Management.
- Masters: Food Security and Community Nutrition, Agronomy, Biosystems Engineering.
- Undergraduate: Agricultural Education and Extension, Science in Agriculture.
- Masters: MSc Agri Enterprise Development, MSc Environmental Studies.

Application Procedures for RUFORUM/Mastercard Foundation TAGDev Scholarship 2024 for Africans (How to apply);
To apply for the TAGDev 2.0 scholarship, follow these steps:
- Access the RUFORUM Information Management System (RIMS) Web Portal.
- Register by clicking on “Register Here” and activate your account via the email sent to your inbox.
- Log in using your email and password.
- Once logged in, you’ll see the Applicant Dashboard with various options.
- Navigate to Calls-Scholarship Calls.
- Select Call ID: RU/2024/TAGDev-2.0/001 and click Apply to start filling the Application Form.
- Save your progress by clicking “Save Draft” as you fill out the form.
- Download and print the completed application form.
- Attach the printed form to your application for admission to your chosen university.
