Application for World Bank Global Secondment Program 2024 is ongoing for qualified interested young graduates from all over the globe to carry out special assignment and appointments that are full-time and funded by the partner of the World Bank Group.

The Global Secondment Program enables eligible candidates from member countries and their agencies, development banks, international organizations, universities, or private companies to take up full-time assignments in the World Bank Group. The successful candidates will be given full-time paid engagements at the World Bank for four years.

Requirements and eligibility criteria World Bank Global Secondment Program 2024:

  • Participants must be full-time employees of the releasing organization at the time of appointment.
  • Participants must continue to receive their salary and benefits from their current company or organization.
  • Interns are not eligible for consideration.
  • Organizations are required to nominate at least three individuals with good performance records.
  • Nominees typically undergo interviews by the WBG’s hiring unit.
  • The hiring unit manager makes the final selection decision.
  • All appointments are subject to a security clearance process, verifying employment, education, credit, and criminal history.
  • Participants cannot start their assignment until the security clearance is completed.
  • Failure to meet the World Bank Group’s security clearance standard results in termination of the appointment.
  • Participants cannot hold managerial or policymaking roles due to Conflict of Interest Guidelines.
  • One-time Special Assignment Appointments generally last one to two years, but may be as short as six months based on assignment criteria.
  • The maximum length of the appointment is four years.

Assignment arrangements are coordinated between the Bank manager of the hosting unit and the partner organization. Participants can reach out to Bank managers to inquire about potential assignments. Partner organizations may submit multiple candidate names for interviews, or they may have already conducted internal interviews and selections. Only qualified candidates meeting the position criteria (education, relevant experience, and skills) will be assigned to the GSP.
