The government of Ireland welcomes suitably qualified applicants to apply for the 2025 Postgraduate Scholarships offered at Higher Institutions in Ireland. The program welcomes foreign students and funds them to achieve their academic goals.

The funding arrangement is a program of the Department of Further and Higher Education, Research, Innovation and Science and administered by the Council. The awards will be available to suitably qualified postgraduate applicants intending either to embark on or already engaged in full-time research in any subject.

Requirements and Eligibility Criteria Government of Ireland 2025 Postgraduate Scholarships

Must be an international student applying to study in Ireland
Must be affiliated with an eligible Irish higher education institution or research-performing organization
Should not have had two previous unsuccessful applications to the relevant program, even if the host institution or research topic has changed
Applications will only be accepted in either Irish or English

Award Benefits:

Stipend: €22,000 per annum
Contribution to Fees: Up to €5,750 per annum, including non-EU fees
Research Expenses: €3,250 per annum, for eligible direct research costs
