WHO Road Safety Reporting Training 2024 for African Journalists

The World Health Organization and Science Africa are thrilled to welcome highly motivated and outstanding journalists and media trainers from the African region to a three-day road safety training workshop in Nairobi starting from July 16-18, 2024.

The program helps selected journalists with an understanding of some of the most important road safety issues and equips them to share their knowledge. It will also include the presentation of the new Africa Regional Road Safety Report of the World Health Organization.

Requirements and Eligibility Criteria for WHO Road Safety Reporting Training 2024 for African Journalists:

  • Applicants must be journalists or media trainers.
  • Applications are open to individuals from Kenya, Ghana, Uganda, Ethiopia, and Tanzania.
  • After training, participants are eligible to apply for grants supporting reporting or training on road safety.
  • Mentoring by the Science Africa team is provided for grant recipients.
  • The Road Safety Reporting Initiative is aimed at improving journalism on road safety to reduce fatalities.
  • It is part of the Bloomberg Philanthropies Initiative for Global Road Safety.
  • The initiative provides training, mentoring, tools, and resources for journalists to delve deeper into road safety issues.
