The Work-Study program offers part-time, on-campus employment for undergraduate and postgraduate students with financial needs during the school year.

  • Proof of a 2024-2025 government student aid package of at least $2,000, or proof of 2024-2025 Indigenous band sponsorship, Metis Nation post-secondary funding, or disability funding.
  • Note: Past government aid, personal bank loans, and registered educational savings plans are not considered.

    Registered as a full-time undergraduate or graduate student at the University of Manitoba for both Fall 2024 and Winter 2025 terms.
  • Minimum 60% course load (9 credit hours per term for undergraduates).
    Graduate students should contact us to determine eligibility on a case-by-case basis.
    Achieved a satisfactory academic standing with a minimum 2.0 institutional GPA in the previous academic session (not applicable for new UM students).
  • Residing in Manitoba throughout the Work-Study employment term.

  • Attend a group orientation session.

  • All students must re-apply each year due to financial aid requirements.

  • Navigate to the Work-Study section and select “Work-Study Program Application.”
  • Complete and submit the application form for pre-approved Work-Study access.
  • After submitting, click the “Accept” button under “Action required by you” to view and apply to job postings.
