British Citizens:

Eligible to apply, including:
British Overseas Territory Citizens

Irish Citizens:

Eligible for the regular Army.
For the Army Reserve, applicants must already reside in the UK.

Refugees/Asylum Seekers:

Not eligible to join the British Army.

Commonwealth Citizens:

Eligible and valued members of the British Army.

Applicants must apply for one of the following roles to be considered:

Musician
Royal Electrical and Mechanical Engineers
Royal Engineers Technician and Tradesman
Paratrooper

How to Calculate ALIS Score:

8 points: GCSE A*/9, BTEC (level 2) Distinction*
7.5 points: GCSE Low A* – High A/8
7 points: GCSE A/7, NAT (level 5) A, BTEC (level 2) Distinction
6 points: GCSE B/6, NAT (level 5) B, BTEC (level 2) Merit
5 points: GCSE C/4&5, NAT (level 5) C, BTEC (level 2) Pass
4 points: GCSE D/3, NAT (level 5) D, NAT (level 4)

Soldier-to-Officer Requirements:

Requires 5 GCSE passes or equivalent, including:
English Language
Mathematics at Grade C/4 or higher
Nationally recognized equivalent qualifications
Candidates not meeting this requirement will undergo an assessment at the Army School of Education, Worthy Down, before being considered for the selection process.
