ASCL Visiting Fellowship 2024 at Universiteit Leiden
The Universiteit Leiden in the Netherlands is pleased to welcome applications from suitably qualified international students to apply for the African Studies Centre Leiden Visiting Fellowship Programme for the 2024/2025 session.
The ASCL has visiting fellowships of which the following are some of them, the PhD Fellows are allowed to access the library and work with other fellows, interact with colleagues, as well as participate in seminars.

Requirements and eligibility criteria ASCL Visiting Fellowship 2024 at Universiteit Leiden
- Hold a PhD degree at the time of applying.
- Conducted research focused on Africa as part of PhD or subsequent projects.
- Actively pursuing an academic/research career.
- Published books, book chapters, or journal articles meeting international standards.
- Ready to return to home country upon fellowship completion per visa regulations.
- Preference for applicants based in Africa (lived there for at least two of the last four years).
- Emphasis on quality and feasibility of proposed research (“research proposal” in application).
