The EDESIA scholarship program is designed to aid doctoral research in Sciences: plants, food and health program and aimed to promote quality and high standard of research.
The University of East Anglia (UEA) is a public research university in Norwich, England. Established in 1963 on a 320-acre (130-hectare) campus west of the city center, the university has four faculties and 26 schools of study. UEA alumni and faculty include 3 Nobel Prize winners, a discoverer of the Hepatitis C and Hepatitis D genomes, a co-inventor of the Oxford–AstraZeneca COVID-19 vaccine, a discoverer of the small interfering RNA, one President of the Royal Society, 3 Fellows of the Academy of Medical Sciences and 48 Fellows of the Royal Society. Alumni also include heads of state, politicians, eminent scientists, broadcasters, actors, historians, entrepreneurs and three Booker Prize winning authors. The Research Excellence Framework published on 12 May 2022 showed that over 91% of the university’s research activity was “world leading” or “internationally excellent” with more than 47% having the highest category of 4* of World Leading Research, significantly higher that the national average of 41%. UEA was ranked 13th in the UK for the quality of its research outputs.

Requirement and Eligibility Criteria for EDESIA Science Scholarships 2023:
- Applicants must be International Students
- Applicants should have, or expect to obtain, a minimum of Upper Second Class UK Honors Degree or equivalent.
- Scholarships awarded for students pursuing a PhD degree program in Science-related research
- Applicants must have to meet the English language competency requirement of the university. Waivers can be given in special cases.
