UBC International Major Entrance Scholarship 2024
Applications are currently invited from suitably qualified international undergraduate candidates for UBC International Major Entrance Scholarship 2024/2025 academic session.
This scholarship is an opportunity awarded to qualified international undergraduate candidates. This program is hosted and sponsored by University of British Columbia, Canada. Students receive their IMES when they enter their first year at UBC, and the scholarships are renewable for up to three additional years of study. The number and level of these scholarships awarded each year vary, depending on available funding.
The University of British Columbia (UBC) is a public research university with campuses near Vancouver and in Kelowna. Established in 1908, it is the oldest university in British Columbia. With an annual research budget of $759 million, UBC funds over 8,000 projects a year. The Vancouver campus is situated adjacent to the University Endowment Lands located about 10 km (6 mi) west of downtown Vancouver. UBC is home to TRIUMF, Canada’s national laboratory for particle and nuclear physics, which houses the world’s largest cyclotron. In addition to the Peter Wall Institute for Advanced Studies and Stuart Blusson Quantum Matter Institute, UBC and the Max Planck Society collectively established the first Max Planck Institute in North America, specializing in quantum materials. One of the largest research libraries in Canada, the UBC Library system has over 10 million volumes among its 21 branches. The Okanagan campus, acquired in 2005, is located in Kelowna, British Columbia.

Requirement and Eligibility Criteria for UBC International Major Entrance Scholarship 2024:
- Applicants must be new to UBC, entering directly from secondary school.
- Be an international student who will be studying at UBC on a Canadian study permit (student visa). (Changes to your citizenship status will affect your IMES eligibility.)
- Demonstrate exceptional academic achievement and intellectual promise, as well as impressive extracurricular and community involvement.
- Not be nominated for a need-and-merit-based International Scholars

Application Procedures for the 2024/2025 UBC International Major Entrance Scholarship (how to apply):
Interested applicants for the UBC International Major Entrance Scholarship for International Students are to note that if they apply to UBC by January 15, they will be automatically considered for the IMES.
Applicants will be considered for this scholarship shortly after they receive an offer of admission to UBC. Scholarship decisions are made between mid-March to the end of April each year.
