Applications are invited from outstanding and talented students from across the globe for the World Bank Legal Internship Program 2023/2024 session. This program is eligible for highly-motivated law students for an opportunity to be exposed to the mission and work of the World Bank

This student internship is organized by The World Bank and located at Washington D.C. and selected countries. The Legal Internship Program allows individuals to bring new perspectives, innovative ideas, and latest research experiences into the World Bank’s daily operations and improve their legal skills while working in a multicultural environment.

The World Bank is an international financial institution that provides loans and grants to the governments of low- and middle-income countries for the purpose of pursuing capital projects. The World Bank is the collective name for the International Bank for Reconstruction and Development (IBRD) and International Development Association (IDA), two of five international organizations owned by the World Bank Group. It was established along with the International Monetary Fund at the 1944 Bretton Woods Conference.

The program’s objective is to provide first-hand experiences of the day-to-day operations of the World Bank by closely collaborating with staff in the Legal Vice Presidency. It is an internship offered thrice a year for a period of maximum three months at World Bank Headquarters in Washington, D.C. and in certain selected offices for currently enrolled law school students.

Requirements and Eligibility Criteria for World Bank Legal Internship Program 2023:

  • Applicants must hold citizenship of any IBRD member state.
  • Must be enrolled currently in an LLB, JD, LLM, SJD, PhD, or equivalent program.
  • Must possess excellent command of the English language.
  • Must demonstrate excellent academic and leadership abilities.
