This Tuition Award is an opportunity offers Full Tuition Fee waiver to qualified masters candidates from all nationalities. This program is sponsored by KTH Royal Institute of Technology and hosted by KTH Royal Institute of Technology, Sweden. The scholarship covers the full tuition fee of a one or two year masters program. The scholarship is awarded primarily on the basis of academic excellence and the selection process is undertaken in parallel with the admissions process.

The KTH Royal Institute of Technology abbreviated KTH, is a public research university in Stockholm, Sweden. KTH conducts research and education in engineering and technology and is Sweden’s largest technical university. Currently, KTH consists of five schools with four campuses in and around Stockholm. KTH was established in 1827 as the Teknologiska institutet (Institute of Technology) and had its roots in the Mekaniska skolan (School of Mechanics) that was established in 1798 in Stockholm. But the origin of KTH dates back to the predecessor of the Mekaniska skolan, the Laboratorium mechanicum, which was established in 1697 by the Swedish scientist and innovator Christopher Polhem. The Laboratorium mechanicum combined education technology, a laboratory, and an exhibition space for innovations. In 1877 KTH received its current name, Kungliga Tekniska högskolan (KTH Royal Institute of Technology). The Swedish king, Carl XVI Gustaf, is the patron of KTH. KTH is ranked 73rd in the world among all universities in the 2024 QS World University Rankings, which is higher than any other university in the nordic countries.

Must be an international fee-paying student who have applied for a master’s program at KTH Royal Institute of Technology.
Must have obtained relevant bachelor’s degree from a recognized university.
Demonstrate excellent academic and research abilities.
Applicants must ensure that they fulfill the admission requirements of the program applied for.

Selection Criteria

The following assessment criteria will be used to select candidates for the scholarship:

The applicant’s grades (GPA or equivalent).
The ranking of the university that awarded the applicant’s bachelor’s degree.
The applicant’s motivation, relevant work experience and extra-curricular activities.
The applicant’s motivation how they will contribute to the sustainable development goals with a master’s degree from KTH.

Application Procedures for the 2024/2025 KTH Scholarships for International Students (how to apply):

Interested applicants for the KTH Scholarships 2024 are to apply first for admission into an eligible course at KTH Royal Institute of Technology and thereafter will be considered for the scholarship if he/she meets the criteria for the scholarship.
