Ritsumeikan Asian Pacific University (APU) is urging highly intellectual and suitably qualified international students who wish to pursue academic desires in Japan to submit their application for the MEXT (UR) Scholarship 2024 program.

This scholarship program is opened to both undergraduate and postgraduate students. It’s a fully funded program sponsored by the Japanese Government to further boost learning in the country and also to relate with other nations.

Requirements and eligibility criteria MEXT (UR) Scholarship 2024 for International Students:

Intend to study abroad in Japan from overseas.
Be a national of a MEXT-designated country.
Born on or after April 2, 1989.
Achieved a GPA of at least 2.30 on a 3.00 scale at the most recent university.

Notes:

Not eligible if serving on active military duty or employed by the military.
Must arrive in Japan during the specified arrival period.
Previous MEXT scholarship recipients must have over 3 years of educational research experience.
Cannot apply for another MEXT scholarship.
Cannot receive another scholarship while studying at APU.
Must have “student” status of residence (visa status) in Japan.
English Proficiency Test Score validity: Examinations taken on or after March 23, 2022, are accepted.

Benefits:

Full admission fee covered.
100% of tuition is covered by the APU Tuition Reduction Scholarship.
Monthly living expenses of 144,000 JPY (subject to change).
Economy class air travel between the home country and APU at the beginning and end of the program.

Application Procedures for MEXT (UR) Scholarship 2024 for International Students (How to apply);

Submit the APU application by November 15, 2023, for September 2024 enrollment. No extra documents are needed for the scholarship consideration. APU reviews applications and picks outstanding candidates to recommend to MEXT. Applicants selected for the scholarship recommendation are informed along with their final APU application results. Selected candidates fill out and submit additional MEXT application documents to APU. The final scholarship decisions are made by MEXT.
