Kaohsiung Medical University Scholarships 2024

Applications are currently being accepted for a number of scholarships offered by Kaohsiung Medical University (KMU) to potential international students who intend to attend the university in Taiwan. Full-time undergraduate and postgraduate students can apply for the scholarships.

This scholarship is a partially funded opportunity that offers NTD 200,000~260,000 to qualified international undergraduates & postgraduates candidates. This program is sponsored and hosted by Kaohsiung Medical University (KMU), Taiwan. Kaohsiung Medical University is a private medical university in Taiwan which offer courses cutting across a number of disciplines from medicine to pharmacy, nursing, health sciences and life sciences. The school awards scholarships for eligible prospective degree students who are pursuing their undergraduate, masters and PhD program.

The Kaohsiung Medical University (KMU) is a private medical school located in Sanmin District, Kaohsiung, Taiwan. The university was originally established as Kaohsiung Medical College in 1954 by the former mayor of Kaohsiung City, Chen Chi-chuan, and Tu Tsung-ming, the first PhD. of Medical Sciences in Taiwan. At the time of its establishment, the college was the first private institution of its kind in southern Taiwan. The Kaohsiung Medical College was re-shaped into the Kaohsiung Medical University (KMU) in August 1999 with the permission of the Ministry of Education, Taiwan. KMU was rated “superior” by the Ministry of Education, Taiwan in all categories of the “Mid-term School Administration Development Plan.”

Applicants who possess a non-R.O.C. nationality shall meet the Regulations Regarding International Students Undertaking Studies in Taiwan (Ministry of Education).

Every type of stipend includes different allowance as:

Type A: NTD 200,000~260,000 per year (monthly stipend, accommodation coverage and tuition fee are included)
Type B: NTD 80,000~140,000 per year (accommodation coverage and tuition fee are included)
Type C: NTD 70,000~80,000 per year (tuition fee)

Undergraduate students can only apply for Type C, Master’s students can apply for Type B and Type C, PhD. students can apply for all types of the scholarship. Failure to follow the instructions above may affect the result of application.

Requirement and Eligibility Criteria Kaohsiung Medical University Scholarships 2024:

To be eligible for Kaohsiung Medical University (KMU) Scholarships for International Students, applicants are expected to meet the following conditions:

Applicants must be international students
Undergraduate Program: A senior high school diploma acquired from an overseas senior high school or a foreign or bilingual school in Taiwan, or document of equivalent educational level shall be recognized by M.O.E. and verified by R.O.C. representative office.
School of Post-Baccalaureate Medicine: A Bachelor’s degree or higher obtained from a university or an independent college recognized by M.O.E. should be verified by R.O.C. representative office. Should the applicant has completed the study in accordance with the provisions of Article 4, Paragraph 1 of the Regulations Regarding International Students Undertaking Studies in Taiwan, a certificate of “being enrolled via International Students Admission Channel in a bachelor’s degree program or higher” is required.
Master’s Program: A Bachelor’s degree or higher obtained from a university or an independent college recognized by M.O.E., or document of equivalent educational level should be verified by R.O.C. representative office. Should the applicant has completed the study in accordance with the provisions of Article 4, Paragraph 1 of the Regulations Regarding International Students Undertaking Studies in Taiwan, a certificate of “being enrolled via International Students Admission Channel in a bachelor’s degree program or higher” is required.
PhD. Program: A Master’s degree or higher obtained from a university or an independent college recognized by M.O.E., or document of equivalent educational level should be verified by R.O.C. representative office. Application Procedures for 2024/2025 Kaohsiung Medical University Scholarships (how to apply):

Applicants who are interested in KMU International Student Scholarship should apply while simultaneously fulfilling the online application form by following these steps:

Visit Application Website, choose [Undergraduate Program] or [Master/PhD.], the degree program you wish to apply. Register for personal account. Applicants may apply for up to 3 programs. Application without online registration will not be accepted.
Read carefully the Declaration and agree the terms of application. Please be informed that if any required fields on the application form is blank, it will not be saved successfully.
Upload all required files and submit application fee (applicants of School of Post-Baccalaureate Medicine only). After completing the on-line application, application documents must be uploaded before the application deadline date.
After filling out the application forms, print it out and sign then upload the scanned copy of the form.
Set up at least 2 respective referrers for each program applied.
