Applications are open for the Australian Government Research Training Program (RTP) for the 2025/2026 academic year. This fully funded opportunity is available to both domestic and international postgraduate students who wish to pursue research doctorate and master’s degrees in Australia.

Successful applicants will receive block grants through higher education providers (HEPs), supporting them in their master’s or Doctorate degrees by research (HDRs). Requirements and Eligibility Criteria;

Must be a domestic or international student enrolled in an accredited HDR (Higher Degree by Research) program at an Australian HEP (Higher Education Provider).
Must not receive income from another source that exceeds 75% of the RTP Stipend to cover living costs. Income unrelated to the course of study or for non-living costs is not considered.
Must not be receiving an equivalent award or scholarship from the Commonwealth to offset HDR tuition fees.
