Applications are hereby invited from eligible candidates from across the globe for UNICEF Graduate and Student Internships 2023/2024 session. This program is open to Students & Recent Graduates.

This internship program is organized by UNICEF and is located in UNICEF Regions. The UNICEF Internship Program offers students in undergraduate, masters and PhD levels and from diverse academic backgrounds the opportunity to gain hands-on experience with UNICEF through global internship opportunities. Recent graduates who have graduated within the past two years can equally take up the opportunity.

UNICEF, originally called the United Nations International Children’s Emergency Fund in full, now officially United Nations Children’s Fund, is an agency of the United Nations responsible for providing humanitarian and developmental aid to children worldwide. The agency is among the most widespread and recognizable social welfare organizations in the world, with a presence in 192 countries and territories. UNICEF’s activities include providing immunizations and disease prevention, administering treatment for children and mothers with HIV, enhancing childhood and maternal nutrition, improving sanitation, promoting education, and providing emergency relief in response to disasters. UNICEF is the successor of the United Nations International Children’s Emergency Fund, created on 11 December 1946, in New York, by the U.N. Relief Rehabilitation Administration to provide immediate relief to children and mothers affected by World War II. UNICEF’s programs emphasize developing community-level services to promote the health and well-being of children.

Our Internship Programme offers students and recent graduates the opportunity to gain direct practical work experience. The duration of an internship is normally between six and twenty-six weeks. Internships can be on a full-time or a part-time basis.

Requirement and Eligibility Criteria for UNICEF Graduate and Student Internships 2023:

  • Applicants must be at least 18 years old.
  • Applicants enrolled in an undergraduate, graduate or PhD program, or have graduated within the past two years.
  • Proficient in at least one of UNICEF’s working languages: English, French or Spanish. Fluency in the working language of the office you are applying to, may also be required.
  • Have no immediate relatives (e.g., mother, father, sister, brother) working with UNICEF, or any other relatives in your reporting line of authority.
  • Have strong academic performance and motivation
  • Additional consideration will be given to any professional experience relevant to the function you’re applying for.

Internship Benefits

Successful applicants for the UNICEF Internship/Career Program for Students and Recent Graduates will receive the following benefits:

  • UNICEF provides a monthly stipend to interns. A one-time lump sum, as a contribution towards travel and visa costs, may also be granted when funding is available.
  • Visa: If necessary, UNICEF will provide relevant supporting documents for our visa applications.
