DAAD aims to boost the presence of international doctoral candidates in structured graduate schools at German universities. To achieve this, we’re excited to introduce the 2024 DAAD Graduate School Scholarship Programme (GSSP) for international students.

DAAD, in collaboration with select German universities, is providing fully funded PhD opportunities in Germany for exceptionally talented international students. This program covers a wide range of disciplines and research fields.

Requirements and eligibility criteria for DAAD Graduate School Scholarship Programme (GSSP) 2024:

Excellently qualified doctoral candidates and young academics/scientists.
Must have completed a Master’s degree or Diplom, or in exceptional cases a
Bachelor’s degree by the time they begin their scholarship, depending on the graduate school.

Who Can Be Funded:

Candidates pursuing a Ph.D. project at a structured graduate school at a university in Germany.

Scholarship Benefits:

Monthly payments of 1,200 euros
Payments toward health, accident, and personal liability insurance cover
Travel lump sum (depending on country of origin)
Annual research allowance of 460 euros
Monthly rent subsidy
Monthly allowance for accompanying family members (about 200 euros child allowance per child; about 275 euros marriage allowance).
