African Union Fellowship Program 2024
Suitable students should apply for the African Union Fellowship 2024, which facilitates the building of internal capacities of the host Africa Union organ. The 12-month program aims to coach competent tech innovators which comes with attractive stipends.
The African Union Digital and Innovation Fellowship Program is a graded intensive 12-month program that specifically looks for and recruits gifted tech innovators from the African continent to the units and organs within the African Union headquarters. Fellows will be called ‘resident fellows’ to understand the system within the units, find the data management difficulties within that system, and solve the challenges they identified by co-creating and building tailor-made products and processes.
The fellowship program is being run in the framework of the GIZ DataCipation program of the BMZ Commission which supports the regional organs of the African Union and the African Union itself to fulfill the continental body’s mandate of giving a voice to citizens.

Requirements and eligibility criteria for African Union Fellowship Program 2024:
- Must be based in Africa and a National of an African Union member state.
- Must be under the age of 34 before the time of application.
- Should hold a tertiary education degree or its equivalent.
- Should have the capacity to gather comprehensive information on complex
- problems or situations and analyze them accurately to identify key issues and provide solutions.
- Must have experience and technical expertise in designing innovative technology products or solutions.
- Must be available to travel to participate in an induction workshop.
- Must be available and willing to dedicate 12 months to the fellowship, including relocating to Addis Ababa, Ethiopia.
- Applicants who speak more than one AU official language (Arabic, English, French, Portuguese, Spanish, and Swahili) are encouraged to apply.
